As we know, money is a bit tight for lots of families. So, getting some free stuff adds a little hope. What better feeling than free food along with an impressive range of free kitchen equipment for the school holidays!

Thanks to grant funding from Blackburn with Darwen Help Hub and the ongoing generosity of the Rummage Rescuers community, some of your favourite kitchen things are at the Rummage Rescuers Warehouse. Bakeware, tableware, and the appliances to cook with. Whether you need a slow cooker or replacement oven, you can ask for help.

The Blackburn with Darwen Council Covid Winter Grant Scheme 2020/2021 is for eligible local families and vulnerable adults. Help is for gas bills, electric, replacement cooker, fridge and more. Perhaps you might need a slow cooker, microwave, toaster, bakeware, plates, cutlery, crockery or other kitchen equipment. During the Easter school holidays, the volunteers at Rummage Rescuers are here to help.

Blackburn with Darwen area residents can make applications online at the Help Hub to receive a referral https://www.blackburn.gov.uk/helphub. The Covid Winter Grant fund scheme ends March/April 2021. People can self-refer by telephoning the Help Hub on (01254) 588111 between 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday or anytime via the online form.

Access to nutritious food is vital for health and wellbeing. Throughout the pandemic, you might have been one of the many who struggled to stay healthy, warm and fed. Marcus Rashford recognised the efforts of Blackburn with Darwen council and community in his #endchildfoodpoverty campaign on Twitter.

On pancake day in February 2021, over 500 Blackburn with Darwen UK area residents signed up for the online family cooking session. Some simple, tasty dishes are a chance to have some fun!
